KaratShield Secure Vault was founded in 2005 in Toronto's financial district with a single objective: to give private individuals and institutions a level of vaulting security previously reserved for central banks. Our first facility on Bay Street was engineered from the ground up as a purpose-built vault, not a converted bank basement — a distinction that still defines how we build today.
As demand grew from collectors, dealers, and family offices seeking storage independent of the traditional banking system, we expanded deliberately rather than quickly. Each new facility — Zurich, Singapore, London, and Dubai — was selected for its regulatory stability, its access to established bullion and freeport markets, and its proximity to the clients who needed us there.
Today, more than twenty years after opening our first vault door, KaratShield safeguards gold, diamonds, fine art, and other high-value assets for clients across six continents, without ever having compromised on the two things our founders insisted on from day one: absolute discretion and uncompromising security.
